    Etch/Mark Aluminum with laser

    Hello, I am trying to etch some text on some 6061-T6 aluminum. The results from this is not good. Does anyone know of another way one side of a part cut by laser could be marked? I need to idetify one side of a sheet from the other.

    Thanks for the help. I think that someone made a typo on a mil spec they were referencing but no one knew enuf to question it. After that it was used over and over again with know one knowing what it is.

    No, All that I have is the calout they are using: "Prime per Mil-C-250 or equivalent"

    Has anyone used or seen MIL-C-250 before? It is a finish spec for prime on a Aluminum part. I started a new job and they sware they use it but no one knows what it is and I can't find any info on it. Thanks for the help.
