    Running a 3-phase 50hz motor on single-phase 60hz power

Your project has a lot of problems. 1: Your generator is too small, 6500W, propably much less if it is converted to run on wood-gas. 2: Different voltages, can be overcome, but at great cost. 3: Too low power, you must have at least 20 KW. 4: AC motor is not suited to car operation, low starting...

    Running a 3-phase 50hz motor on single-phase 60hz power

Is 7.5 Hp enough for the car, as far as i remember the weakest Civic was 55Hp. In my opinion you are wasting time and money on the project.

Russian 220 voltage, how many phases?

There is no good reason whatever to use 1 phase 220V motors if you have acces to 3 phase 380 V. The 3 phase motors are cheaper and more reliable, many small motors running 1 phase is really 3 phase motors with a capacitor to provide the turning field, these motors have a much lower torque than...

one phase or 3 phase motor?

You should consider an external cooling fanfor the motor.

can we run the 360 volts, 50Hzs motor on 460volts 60Hzs

I worked as an electromecanics in the -70s, and then it was common practice to use european 380V 50 Hz motors for machines built for export to USA running on the 440V 6o Hz. Of course the speed will be 20% higher, but that is no problem for the motor.

    Caliper for wire gauges?

Before you start any messurements on live wiring you must know the voltage, and the needed insulation and safety distances. I understand from your question that you are unfamiliar with electric safety, if that is correct, my best advice is to find somebody who has the skills and tools for the...

    460/60HZ to 360V/60HZ

I agree with the writers that suggest the transformer solution, but only because of the high number of motors. If it was a single or a few, I would scrap them and install new motors with the correct data, rewinding is much too costly, at lesst in high wage countries. Greetings Aksel.

    460V VFD running a 230V motor

You can not use a transformer between the VFD and the motor as the output is not a sinus wave, the losses in the trafo will be very high. Aksel

independent vfd of 3 pumps feeding system at separate locations

I have built several multi pump controllers using Danfoss VFC with cascade option. One pump is always frequency controlled, and the rest can be single or variable speed, the VFC is controlled by a pressure gauge keeping the pressure constant. In simple setups the main pump, frequency...

    Brake failure on Hoist applications

I would suggest that you activate the mecanical brake at each stop, when the hoist is nearly stopped by the electrical brake. If you only use it as a last safety it is very likely that it is stuck in rust or dirt. Elevator safety brakes for cable operated systems are not overspeed brakes, they...

    Single Phase Electrical Service

itsmoked Danish house installations are normally 3 Phase 400 V +N +Gnd. European standard voltage. Light and outlets are 230V (Phase +N) divided into 1 phase 13 A groups. Stoves and many washing mashines (mainly older types) are 3 phase (1 phase for motor, 2 for heating) often 16 A groups The...

    Single Phase Electrical Service

I dont understand American standards, in Europe nobody would think of installing 1 phase 1200 Amp. In Denmark almost every house has at least 3x400 V 20 Amp supply. Greetings Aksel

    Help: Halogen Lighting Circuit

The resistance of the cold filament is very low and your powersupply is probably not able to give the staring current, the advice from IRstuff might work. Why do you want to run it on DC, any 10A transformer will do the job. Greetings Aksel

    American Voltage

Say! just how do clocks run on 50Hz anyway? Best Regards Pennpoint If you bring your mains controlled clock you will get a short workday, but clocks are built for 50 or 60 Hz. Greetings Aksel, Denmark

    American Voltage

jraef wrote: You mean to tell me that every country in Europe has exactly the same voltage standards? Wow. Given your history of not getting along with each other, I find that hard to beleive! Untill some 10 years ago England had a slightly different voltage standard, 3 phase 240/415 V, the...

    4" submersible pump motor 3phase 230v 4 pole

Have you considered Grundfoss http://www.grundfoss.com/ they have pumps with built-in frequency converter, that might solve your problem.

    PC Mount Transformers

Have you tried european manufacturers? it is much easier to find a 380V transformer here as it is a standard voltage. Greetings Aksel

    Help terminating cables

I did`nt try my link to RS-Parts (danish not german) but it refers to EMC glands. My normal procedure is to terminate both ends of the cable in motor and control installations, the same method as described in the link from Mike Halloran. "Cable shielding needs to be handled differently for...

    Help terminating cables

The corrrect way to EMC terminate the schield is to connect it to ground by a clamp covering as much of the circumference as possible, it can be metal cable cleats screwed into the chassis plate. On motors and in control cabinets EMC glands as shown in this link can be used...
