    NX7.5 excel example

Hi, I'm building a model of a conveyor assembly and I want to control some of the part sizes in the assembly through excel. Does anyone have an example project where the assembly was controlled through excel I could download and learn from?

    SolidEdge doesn't pan smoothly

Thanks guys! I tried a different graphics card from a friend and everything is working. Never had this problem with other CAD software. Teebarr, I'll try my old graphics card with the different settings you suggest and see if that works.

    SolidEdge doesn't pan smoothly

I installed ST3 on my computer and the pan doesn't move smoothly. When I hold the mouse wheel down to pan around the part it's very very jittery, and doesn't look like it will move until I release the mouse wheel and then the part is in a new position. I'm not sure if I need to change a...

How to creating a proper engineering drawing?

Hi, I have a new job where I need to take CAD models and create manufacturing drawings for the parts. Are there any books that teach how to make a manufacturing drawing? I have a copy of the ASME standards, but they don't teach how to make a "nice" manufacturing drawing. I don't want to...

    Power Factor Correction Help

This is what I did: I connected a switching power supply from digikey (part number 102-1337-ND) to a bank of LEDs drawing about 36Watts. I then connected it to an HP universal power supply and it gave me a pf of 0.5. I'm trying to understand what the pf factor means. Does it mean my LED...

    Power Factor Correction Help

Hi All, I'm confused with pf. I have a 50W switching power supply that I measured a pf of 0.5. Does that mean that mean if I connect a load to it it will require double the amount of current to run the device, so it will will be operating at 100Watts? This doesn't seem right. Someone set me...

    Conformal Coating

Hi All, I wanted to make an LED PCB that will last outdoors. It will be in direct contact with the environment. Is there a spray I can use on the PCB that is clear so the LED light will come through and will protect the PCB from rain? I was thinking clear coat that is used for paint, but...

How does a TV make white

I'm sure there must be a standard formula that is just tweaked depending on the emission source. Guys who are doing low res graphics with LEDs would be experienced with this.

How does a TV make white

Is there a formula used that is tweaked?

How does a TV make white

I'm making an rgb LED light and need a formula to convert the pwm of each rgb to make the different colors. I can dim each LED from 0 to 100% with a pwm now, but 100% of RGB is not white, as far as the eyes perception of color. I read that the RGB for white on a TV was 30% 59% 11%. I wanted...

How does a TV make white

Hi All, What is the equation a tv uses to make white? I ask because 100% of red green and blue doesn't make white. I read that 59 percent green and 30 percent red and 11 percent blue makes white. Does anyone have a more detailed link about this?

Is grease good all the time?

Our aplication is much samller scale, they are size you would see in a VCR for instance. The belts are toothed so there shouldn't be any slipping. Soap, never would have thought of that one! Thanks for the responses.

Is grease good all the time?

Thanks for the respose! We put synthetic grease with teflon on the belts. When I started working here this idea sounded strange because you don't put grease on car engine belts! I won't be able to change this idea even if it's wrong, but I'd like to know.

Is grease good all the time?

Just a question about grease. I have a rotary table with bronse bearings and they say in the instructions not to use grease. I thought grease was good all the time? Also we have been greaseing belts on our machines to bring the noise down. Does greasing a belt make sense? I'm trying to...

Looking for lens that will collimate 4 led dies 2mm apart

My bad, the Bl4000 is similar to my LED!! But the dies I have are arranged in a square, these seem to be arranged in some unsymetrical way, there are also more dies, but I will try the lens, 10deg. That's pretty tight, the front looks like a micro lens array. I wonder what the losses are...

Looking for lens that will collimate 4 led dies 2mm apart

Hey, lamina makes it, I've tried the fraen lens and you can see the 4 separate dies on the projection surface. I've thrown a micro lens array over the lens to diffuse the light. It works, but my beam spread is still too wide. I think somehow a lens that will colimate the light from each die...

Looking for lens that will collimate 4 led dies 2mm apart

The lens I have has a 15deg half angle, that works with a single led die. With the 4 led die place around the center the half angle has changed to 24deg (for the same 15deg lens). I want to be able to tighten the beam angle back down to 15deg.

Looking for lens that will collimate 4 led dies 2mm apart

I have an LED that has 4 1mm chips inside it, RGBA. When I use a standard luxeon LED lens the beam angle doubles because the led chips are all offset from the center by 2.5mm. It's a result of the light being reflected internally and exiting the lens not in a straight beam but more at an...
