15 years ago I had to install wooden platforms under every every transformer N2 setup. The platforms were designed so N2 bottle changeouts only required 1 man. If there wasn't a platform for him to roll the bottle it was a two man job. After that I changed the transformer spec to conservator...
Where do I go to find the necessary formulas to calculate the voltage on the low side of a step down transformer? I have the impedance, the watt loss, turns ratio and the load. I can do the v=ir and calculate the voltage drop on an per unit basis but I would like to verify if I am doing it right.
thanks Rempman. You were correct, I was talking about transmission switches. I've since been told by one manufacturer that their switches with arcing horns can pick up load.
Another issue to be concerned about is grounding. The GSU is generally a delta wye grounded with the ground on the load side. The generator will supply the ground on the generator side between the GSU and the aux. If this is the case and you energize the transformer from the high side, you...
Heres a problem I have been working on and really can't find any data on. Under what conditions can you close a switch. My company has certain guidelines that we follow when closing a switch. Our maintenance departmeht claims we are destroying the switches ( and using there budget) by the way...
I work in a facility that has a 750 kW backup generator. We have a startup/throwover test once a month. What are the industry standards concerning backup generators and frequency of the tests?
thanks in advance
I have a 69 kV circuit thats elevated in respect to the surronding area. The area in general is a high density lightning strike area. So the circuit being the highest structure by far has made it quite the targer for lightning. The underbuild 13 kV distribution has one of the lowest...
Can somebody draw the zero sequence diagram for Substationguy's example? I am investigating an open source incident and I cant figure out how to draw the zero sequence diagram. In my incident we were feeding load fed from a Y-delta-Y grounded bank with only two phases supplying the high side...
