I used extruded quad4 elements to Hex8 and deleted/equivalanced the quad4 nodes. For a simple flat honeycombe panel I used 'z' direction on the co-ord for my tranverse plane values, and that was ok, but on the curve surface, or T joints, it was no good!!
Please advice me!!

I want to try analyis of composite 'T' joints using 3d solid elements (using 3d orthotropic properties) in Patran (because there will be internal webs) but on curved surfaces, how can you align the elements so that, like in 2d shell elements analysist, the 3d elements will have 'z'...
