    Hello, Both. The Tools|Options|File Locations|Doc Templates is only a location setting where the actual template resides. This is set to the folder where part1.prtdot is located. It doesn't seem like Solidworks is looking at the part1.prtdot file at all. Thanks

    I tried that and it doesn't seem to be working. I opened Part1.prtdot changed the units in Tools|Options|Doc Properties|Units. Saved the template and closed SolidWorks. When I start Solidworks and start a new Part I'm back to metric??? I also confirmed that part1.prtdot is the default template...
