    Know of any good books?

my favorite book is 'engineering mechanics of composite materials' by isaac m.daniel and ori ishai. it goes deep into material properties and so on - if at some stage, you're interested in that!

    FST-satisfying thermoPLASTIC

have you heard of a thermoplastic resin system which (with carbon fibers) can withstand 1100°C for 5 minutes? i thought only thermosets could be used in such a situation!

carbon fuel pipe under external pressure

i'm thinking of filament winding the pipe. it's about 25 centimeters in length and looks like an 'S' - so it's bent twice with two 90°s. and it's supported at the two ends. the effective compressive young's mod is 140GPa, its tensile strength is 1500MPa and compressive is 900MPa.

carbon fuel pipe under external pressure

hi! so my previous question was whether a 1mm thickness of carbon/epoxy would be able to withstand -37psi. this is what my calculations say - i'm just wondering if it makes logical sense...those of you with more experience? the material is carbon fiber and epoxy, diameter is 2.5in, filament...
