Glass for inspection window that meets CSA C22.2 No. 30

I am currently designing an Explosion-Proof Enclosure for Use in Class I Hazardous Locations (C22.2 No. 30). This enclosure will have an inspection window in it. It will be Ø3.25in (Ø2.50in unsupported). I have tested 9mm thick tempered borosilicate glass which has failed. Does anyone have...

    Danger of compressed air.

I am trying to quantify the amount of potential energy created when compressing air. Specifically related to the volume of air compressed. Example: A vessel is being hydrostaticly tested (water), but has air traped inside. It is pressured to 2000psi. Scenario #1: pressurization occurs...

    Fire Safe Valve Seals

Does anyone know of a viable alternatives to grafoil packing or gaskets to make a valve fire safe? I am looking to see if I can get an oring type seal (shaft in a bore) that is self energizing to act as a fire safe seal. I have very little experiance in this area and may be dreaming of the...

Pig Valves Experiences in Low Pressures Natural Gas Pipelines

The nameplate on the valve has a box where they indicate flow direction. Your 4in launcher must be on an Argus 4" valve. It is indicated by FLOW: L--->R or L<---R.

Pig Valves Experiences in Low Pressures Natural Gas Pipelines

All the Argus Pig Valves that I have seen had the flow direction right on the nameplate.

Is there a surface build-up (metal spray) that meets MR0175?

The damage is not corrosion. It is presumably damage from assembly/disassembly (scratches, galling, out of round). The repair is required strictly to build up the area for proper a sealing suface. All the comments are appreciated.

Is there a surface build-up (metal spray) that meets MR0175?

It is to a pig valve (three-piece ball valve). The seal area that needs repair is the body to closure static seal. There is damage to the seal area in the body and we are exploring options other than weld build-up for repair. The substrate/body material is ASTM 'A350-LF2'(meets Nace...

Is there a surface build-up (metal spray) that meets MR0175?

I am trying to find a method of building up the seal areas of valve bodies. Is there a metal spray process that can build-up a surface .030in and is also NACE MR0175?
