We are having problems tapping 446SS. We are trying to tap 1/2" NPT in 1.125 Round Bar. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to find information on tapping this material? We have scrapped parts and our tooling salesman sent us a tap that they thought might work but it didn't.

We have a WPS and PQR for welding 316SS to 316SS. Can the WPS for 316SS also be used for 321SS and 347SS. We would be welding the same product - just different grade of material.

Is there any information available on how much horizontal expansion a tubeskin thermocouple can take with a standard loop of 3"? The typical thermocouple is .500 310SS Material. Does anyone know where I might be able to find information on this?
