    New computer monitor

I use a 19" LCD monitor here at work with a 20+ MS response time (it's a bit older) and I rarely notice any ghosting. If you picked up a more expensive LCD with 12MS response or lower you could watch DVD movies and play computer games just fine--though I doubt you will be doing that at work...

Create In-Place parts saving to hard drive

EClark, When you create a part in place, a dialoge box should pop up asking for some information. There should be a "new file location" field with a "browse" button next to it. You should be able to browse to your network and save it there. As far as changing what that defaults to, I'm not sure.

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Thanks everyone for your help! I made a formula in the bend radius variable field in the template to force the radius to be the absolute vaulue of .001 at all times. This has made that radius changing itself in the material library inconsequential. Unfortunatley I purged all the materials from...

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Not material, gauge is what I should have said.

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

No formula in the bend radius field, just the .001 that I've specified. If I load a different material, it changes again back to material thickness.

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Fredericmenage, Thanks, that sounds like something that should do the trick. I'll try it right this second!

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Sorry I forgot to put the gauge list in my clipboard and hastily pasted over a copy of the material list. Here is my gauge list: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/9637/gaugelist5ge.jpg

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

I'm not sure if my typing is acutally getting across what is going on here. Here is my material list, it only consists of "Sheet Metal" I copied the (none) material to make sure it wasn't a property of the metal that was causing this change...

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Everything I specify about the gauge gets saved, besides the bend radius. Gauge specific nuetral factor, thickness; everything. I've triplechecked to make sure I saved my changes. They are in fact changed, but whenever I start a new sheetmetal drawing and it loads the material table for me to...

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

There needs to be a spreadsheet for this... It seems to be doing the same thing as it was. I've made a "Sheet Metal" material, and set up a gauge for every type of material that we model in. For example: AL .063 5052-H32 where I specify radius, thickness, and neutral factors. I've set that...

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Thank you, I was afraid I would get an answer I didn't like. Thanks again so much for your help!

Material Library in V18 (bend radius)

Hello! I recently upgraded my seat of SE from 17 to 18 and I have been having a problem with my material library. As Solid Edge sometimes likes to do things with sheet-metal flats that aren't necessary, my predecessors here started using a .001 radius on all materials, and varying the neutral...

    Mazak TX-48 Cut conditions

asp1950, I'm not familiar with the laser or the exact parameters Mazak uses, but there are a couple things I might try: 1. Have you tried increasing the dwell time? (G4, it's in seconds I believe) 2. It looks to me like the P (power?) variable in the first G82 parameters line is somewhat low...

    Voice Recognition

Learning the shorthand keyboard commands helped me speed up my use considerably. The only icons I really keep around are the dimension icons; The keyboard commands for them are a bit unwieldy.

    CNC punch-press software help

Hello! I'm a first time poster but I hope to spend a lot of time on the boards to help as much as I can (with my limited experience). My question is: I am helping evaluate CNC punch-press software for purchase at my company. As it stands now, we have our lead engineer do all the programmaing...
