    Fibermesh - Tension Capacity

The mesh will not be attached to the bollard. It will only be tackwelded every 8' or so.

    Fibermesh - Tension Capacity

Ok, I have an odd situation where I'm putting 6" by 6" steel bollards at 1' o.c. in a concrete trench (1'-4" wide by 4' to 6' deep). The bollards are rotated 45 degrees so they are diamond shape in plan. I'm worried that a crack will occur between the bollards, propagate down into the...

    Best Practices - Commercial Construction

Yeah, we have architects in office. We're trying to make these decisions together. Wood stud walls aren't going to work for most of our buildings. They will each be two-story (2500 ft^2/floor) which means we must meet A3 construction via BOCA or put in a sprinkler system.

    Balcony brackets...connection design??

Our architect wants get away from cantilevering joists when building balconies due to water problems (joist rot) over time. So instead he wants to use brackets to support the balcony. My analysis shows that this creates a bending moment in the wall, which I will counter with a 4x4 or 6x6...
