Dear,
I am calculating some lines for stress that contain rupture disc.
I did a little bit thinking about the reactions that occur when the disc breaks ... but now I am a little bit confused.
Which phenomenoms occur hen the disc breaks? shockwave ... in wich direction ... goes it up or...
Is there anyone who can clearly explain how a steamloc (venturi nozzle steamtrap) works? Or if you have some information on this topic, photo's animation,...

Dear,
You have overlooked the fact that all material (and pressure) -test in ASME code are done at high temperature (temperature where material yields without additional force). Other values at lower temperature are derived from these high temperature results .( Thus the basis of ASME are these...
Andy,
Thanks for to effort you put in trying to help me, but I think you misunderstood my question. The values you give me are Rp0.2 values (= yield strenght). I have full access to all EN-codes so also these values.
My problem are tensile strenghts (Rmtemp)! These strenght values seem...
InTheField,
My problem is not the materials listed in ASME II because these are all ASTM materials. My problem is calculating allowable stresses for EN/DIN materials according B31.3! B31.3 provides a formula with 4 'parameters': Rm20/3;Rmtemp/3;Ry20/1.5;Rytemp/1.5 Minimum of these values gives...
Dear,
I am trying to make pipespecifications with both ASTM and EN materials according B31.3. I have still one remaining problem. For the EN materials I need tensile strenghts at elevated temperatures. In the EN codes these values are impossible to find. The approaching formule derived from...
Hello,
Is there somebody how really knows the different (dis)advantages (when and where to use wich type?) of the different butterfly valves designs, offset.
Specially the differnece between single and double eccentric is a bit of a mystery for me. Has it something to do with selingforces...
