Dear guys,
I am searching load profile/waveform of all kinds of typical loads in a power system for analysis, particularly transient situations, eg, motor starting, short-circuit, electronic ballasts. Would you kindly suggest any good reference?
Cheers,
Scada
Dear guys, our utility uses Modbus and DNP ONLY for pilot cable communication. I am wondering whether it's common practice or any restriction on other protocols. May I ask what protocols you are using for pilot cable communication. Thanks for advice.
I am sourcing for a reliable circuit breaker condition monitor and find a product, INCON's OPTImizer+ (http://www.incon.com/products/prs/op1.htm). Does anyone try this? Pls share your comment and product review. Thanks in advance.
Thanks dpc for your quick reply.
The existing installations are several 11kv distribution boards (~800A) in a substation which is monitored and controlled by RTU (just digital status, alarms and load current). The RTU provides limited remote control functions thru modem or other network means...
Dear all,
For a VCB, normally what parameters would you measure and monitor? (eg, CB status, tripping/closing current, battery terminal voltage...) How many order harmonic would be measured?
Instead of standalone power monitor module (like schneider or rockwell), are there any existing...
Dear all,
I am new to signallying and rf and now need to study the feasibility of guided wave in conductor. Do you have information, experience or applications about guided wave radar or microwave in cable, wire & phone lines? My concern is the range, signal-to-noise and power requirement of...
Sorry for not mentioning details of CT before. I am using a CT from PLC (powerline communication) modules which should be high frequency response. But thank you for your reminding about the frequency of injetted signal. I will try later.
I have read your suggested article before. Actually I...
Yes really appreciate sharing of real applications and cases.
I see what your meant and I just tried again and again.
And I am quite sure that for lab test the key problem is by coupling method a low impedance loop is needed for a strong enough pulse to flow, but this would not enable you to...
Thank you all for useful information.
I just tried with a CT as coupler and a long copper wire loop as the cable. 100kHz pulses were injetted. Expected reflected pulse and sending pulse were monitored using digital oscilloscope. Since it's lab test, the fault impedance was just simulated with...
To locate cable fault by TDR method, a pulse is injetted and the reflected pulse is heard so that distance could be calculated. Is it possible to use current method by coupling instead of voltage method? Would current have the propagation delay and wave property of reflecting upon a high resistance?
Dear guys,
I know there are applications of fault indicators hanged on each phase conductor which ignite in case of fault/open conductor. Is there any embedded products or design sensing positive-, negative- and zero-sequence current and analysing electrical signature to give predictive alarm...
