Hi,
This concerns conducted EMC testing for offline SMPS
They use a spectrum analyser and a LISN. The spectrum analyser can be irepairably damaged by..
1....the detector in the Spec Anal getting overloaded by the input from the LISN
2...The RF input of the SPec An getting overpowered...
Hi..........its amazing how a massive number of Power electronics company staff think that a burst mode SMPS is worse at EMC , than a standard frequency compensated SMPS.....which if course, is totally not true....neither does it fail flicker.
I once worked at a co, where they had a 600W UV...
From what i see, there is essentially no difference in an LLC for 15kv, 2kw output, and an LLC for 2kw, 200V output.
...other than the obvious different turns ratio....and the need for special HV isolation material and clearance.
Also the fact that you are forced to do an "Integrated...
Here is the PDF schem, i coudlnt upload it in the same posthttps://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=a52a0abe-a46a-4ed5-b3c5-7c408c1ea802&file=1kW_Buck_battery_charger_with_DC_feedback_path.pdf
Also, please could you assist in finding the gain and phase margin of the attached 1kW buck battery charger...PDF schem and LTspice sim attached. The U2 based error amp kind of rules the roost...setting the reference for the U9 based error...
Thanks, and as you know, there is a type 1 error amplifier, and a type 2b....type 2b is a type 1 but with a resistor connected in pllel to the capacitor.
As you know, the resistor in this place reduces gain at DC......and usually, the power stage poles and zeros in an SMPS mean that the last...
Hi,
You have type 1, 2 & 3 error amps for SMPS feedback compensation...
But what is the error amp called that is just a high gain inverting amp?...ie, not an integrating error amp.
Also, can you confirm, that using this (unknown name) error amplifer, there is no gaurantee in eg a Buck battery...
Thanks, a PMDC is a type of brushless motor...but may also be a term used for a brushed one, i dont know.
And now i am ashamed of myself, because there is (generally) a difference between a PMDC and a BLDC, and i have forgotten it....
I think a PMDC has sinusoidal air gap field, but a BLDC has...
Thanks, yes because we need to drive two of them from a TPS54070, which has a peak current limit of 0.6A, so if the 2 fans draw too much current , then the buck wont be able to supply them. Vin is 31-36V. (To the buck)
Hi,
Do you know what the power consumption of the 624HH Papst fan is at voltages from 18-30V?
624HH fan

Its rated 18-28V, but we intend to run it mainly at 30V...
Yes, we could buy an excellent one from China.
However, we need it to last >10 years, and so we will need to work with the manufacturer over the years to put right any failure points as they (possibly) show up.
The Chinese are great people, they are genuinely decent and superb. China has become...
Also, here is the schem of the GTI attached (i dont think you can have more than one attache per post?)https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=fde36c36-17f9-4abc-95a5-d0f802b966a9&file=Grid_Tied_Inverter.pdf
Do you think the attached would be OK to take forward as a Grid Tied inverter?
It puts a sinusoidal current into the mains. Is mostly analog...would just need some software to generate the sinusoidal reference and do all the protections needed for a GTI.
(LTspice of grid ited inverter...
Thanks, reference GTI's......they have no current control...they cant, because the current drawn from them depends on the loading of the phase........they have no voltage control...the voltage at their output is determined by the mains.
The GTI's only have current and voltage limiting.
The...
Hi,
Would you agree, that this is a simple job? One simply has to set up sinusoidal PWM into a H bridge, and have output current limitation.
You make sure your DC bus is say , 400V, so that its always above mains peak...then you simply sinusoidally PWM it.....the sinusoidal PWM is made by a ref...
Thanks, EV charging stations need it because they have DC in them...but as you know, virtually all offline SMPS's have a DC bus in them, on pri and sec sides...as such, why do not all need 6mA DC leakage current detection?
Hi,
What if the schem on fig3, page 3 (of the below) is done without the compensation error amplifier , U2?
