Hi. If A403 316L fitting will be made from SS316L pipe and the heat treatment temperature of the pipe (1100ºC) and the fitting (1045ºC)are different but both are solution annealed, will ASME code require a tension test for the fitting? Or a fitting manufacturer can copy the tension test recorded...
Is anybody could give me some ideas on how you guys design pressure vessel parts in FEA?
How do you calculate your loadings? And when these loadings are applied, how do you assess the results?
We are designing an equipment which has flange end connection. This needs to match end connection of our client. We either use standard flanges or design customise flange dimensioned to ASME B16.5 to match client end connection. There are times we can't use standard flanges because of the design...
Is there a way to calculate required bolt area of a standard flange say from ASME B16.5?
I use equations from ASME VIII-1 App 2 to calculate this but it fails. Experience prove that the bolt data from these standard is sufficient for the scope service. Please comment.
Thanks!
I think more specific to UG-6,UG-14 and App 2.
PLease correct me if im wrong, ok.
UG-6 allows me to use forge material in pressure vessel construction.
UG-14 mentions limitation of the use of forged rod or bar.
UG-14(b) is a little bit a confusion. Does it means here flanges of all types...
