Hi, how to get the integer value of a number. For exemple 14.25...how to get 14 from this number. thank's barha

How to recognise the elements included in a cercle

Can you Alex show in few lines how to do so?

How to recognise the elements included in a cercle

It's more complicate because it is an ellipse for me but I already tried something like you tell me and it works well, but a friend said to me that it could be a command in Ansys which gives us directly the elements included in the circle, do you think so Alex? Regards Barha

How to recognise the elements included in a cercle

Hi everyone, someone can please answer this question? If for example one draws a circle on a given mesh. Is there any command in Ansys which allows us to recognize the elements whose centroid are included in this circle? Regards Barha

How to read temperature at an integration point?

I believe that the best solution for the moment remains that which I do: to apply at nodes the same temperature (which is their average temperature) and if it proves that the element cools in comparison with the preceding step, then to assign to him a new material (with MPCHG). To have a better...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Hi, It is what I do CBRN, I refine the mesh....but I cannot go very far because the computing time should not be also very big!! Also if I use a variable mesh I encounter problems of convergences..... We still don’t know what do ANSYS when the temperatures at the nodes (or the points of...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Thank you CBRN and PJA for this great informations… I try to use them in this moment….but the second part of my question remains unanswered!!. If I can read the temperature at a node (or at a point of integration) and that its value implies the use of material 2 how to force Ansys to use...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Thank you CBRN for this very instructive answer. I make a thermal analysis to have the temperatures at nodes. I apply these temperatures as loading in a structural analysis. I declare for example that: MPTEMP, 20,100,200,300,400,500 MPDATA, EX, 1, 200e9, 189e9, 170e9, 160e9, 150e9, 140e9...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Hi, Look CBRN, if you can answer this question, it will be more easier for me to explain what I said before: Suppose that: MPTEMP,,20,100,200,300,400,500 MPDATA,EX,1,,200e9, 189e9, 170e9, 160e9, 150e9, 140e9 So, when the temperature is for example = 200, Ansys gives EX a value of 170e9. The...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Hi bfillery, sorry for the delay. In fact, I make a thermal analysis to obtain the transient field of temperature. These temperatures will then be applied as load in a structural analysis for studying, for example the variation of the stresses state in the component. The mechanical properties of...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Dear bfillery, Yes the temperatures output is at the nodes but, i think that the calculation of them is done initially in the integrations points then they are extrapolated to the nodes. Now if one uses these temperatures as loading in a structural analysis, and if for example the Young modulus...

How to read temperature at an integration point?

Hi everybody. In my program, I need to know, at every time, the temperature’s value of every integration point of the elements. Is there a command of Ansys which enables us to read the temperature at a given integration point? Thanks in advance Barha

how to plot a 3D graph in ANSYS

Hi everybody Help please!! To be clear as possible, suppose you have four element (link8) E=[1,2,3,4] and the corresponding stresses for each element at time 1 second are : STRESS=[a,b,c,d]. At time 2 second:STRESS=[e,f,g,h]. at time 3 second: STRESS=[i, J, K, L ]. So how to plot a 3D graph...

    My program does not converge

Yes it seems to be an output but, in Ansys, if you have a phase change, you must enter it like a parameter of your material. ENTH is the specific enthalpy of your material. H=integral (DENS*C*dT). Normally it should give the same thing as if C were used but I would like to check that!!!

    My program does not converge

Hi!!! someone can help me please? When I used the specific heat C in a transient thermal analysis, it converges correctly. But when I replace C by the corresponding values of ENTH, the program does not converge any more!!! Is there a particular command which I must use to avoid not-convergence...

I need enthalpy data for any stainless steel

hi everybody!! i need to find data of the enthalpy (or capacity) of any stainless steel (like AISI 415) to use it in welding simulation. Somebody know where to find such values? thank's in advance Barha

how to obtain ENTH form values of Capacity?

Hi everybody I have the following data: MPTEMP,,20,100,200,400,750,850 MPTEMP,,1000,1200,1400,1490,1570,1700 MPTEMP,,5000 MPDATA,c,1,,450,480,520,590,650,1400 MPDATA,c,1,,650,650,650,650,3400,650 MPDATA,c,1,,650 I have phase change in my programme so i need to use the enthalpy instead of...
