Is there an easy way to UT examinine set in nozzles in stainless steel and Duplex pressure vessels. I have been informed that there is a requirement to make a replica weld for each setup and material type to use as a test block
We are fabricating a carbon steel c/w stainless steel internal strip clad lined vessel which requires to be ASME 'U' stamped.
We are fitting nozzles complete with stainless steel overlay. We intend to purchase long weld kneck flanges and supply these to a sub-contractor to overlay for us, but...
we have had some small (1"nb & 1/2"nb)diameter nozzles (A106/ A333 Gr6)damaged in transit due to the nozzle being bent. My question, is there a limit to the amount the nozzle is bent before you need to replace it or attempt to straighten it mechanicaly by heating.
Is it acceptable to design and fabricate ASME VIII : DIV I : 2004 U-Stamp vessels from Super Duplex ASME SA240 UNS S32760. This material can be found in ASME II part A but not in ASME II part D. If so can the stresses for Super Duplex ASME SA240 UNS S32750 be utilised.
we have been asked to supply a vessel 70mm thick in 1501 490b lt50 carbon steel c/w 321 stainless steel overlay on the bottom dish.
will the pwht of the vessel affect the 321 properties?
