    That makes sense. Thank you!

    Phi angle for wet concrete?

I'm looking at a steel sheet pile cell design that may require tremie concrete cell fill due to concerns with vessel impact. Does anyone have any information regarding the phi angle of wet concrete? I'm trying to determine the earth pressure coefficent for the design. Thanks!

    Geosynthetics, friction angle

FYI, I just found an article online that looks promising: http://www.geomembrane.com/friction/ShearStrengthPVCInterface.pdf

    Geosynthetics, friction angle

Does anyone know of any good references for friction angles of geosynthetics? I've checked the manufactures websites, but couldn't find anything. I'm looking for info on geotextile and geomembranes. The rule of thumb in my office is that geotextile should not be placed on a slope greater than...

Soil bentonite slurry wall, maximum bottom slope

I'm reviewing a slurry wall design for a project with a flat surface grade, but the required key-in depth changes considerably across the site. Does anyone know the max recommended trench bottom slope? I'm sure if the trench bottom is too steep, it would cause problems with maintaining the...

Geophysical Methods, detecting voids in clayey material

I'm looking for any tips regarding subsurface site assessment using geophysical methods. What is the best method out there for detecting voids & anomolies in a dike built from clayey material? I only need to go to a depth of 25 - 30 feet. (I do plan on "ground truthing" with borings.) I've...

Aboveground Storage Tanks - sec. containment for aboveground piping?

Sorry - The piping is for a large jet fuel aboveground storage tank. I've reviewed the new SPCC rules & guidance, and I may be able to provide for 'active containment' via spill control kits since their is staffing at the tank at most hours. Thanks!

Aboveground Storage Tanks - sec. containment for aboveground piping?

Anyone have any practical experience with SPCC requirements for secondary containment for aboveground piping? I'm trying to determine what is required for containment of singlewalled piping outside of the bermed area. Anyone with experience in this area? Thanks for you help!
