    Interesting idea... I should apologize... I should have started this thread with more information. I don't think I could seal this concrete manhole well enough to have steam pressure buildup enough to push the water out. There is a 20" casing with a 12" steam line and a 6" condensate line...

    Hello TenPenny, Thanks for the response. Your suggestion is appreciated. Unfortunately we tried that and the minerals in the water baked to the pump forming a large clump of calcium and other minerals. Just in case anyone else is reading this thread. I'm also interested in a level detection...
