    AutoCAD users to Solidworks

I asked my reseller and it is still not released for januar 2014 and it is delayed again. My problem with SW is that it stays the same, I mean the principal way of modeling stays the same. It is still feature based modeling with history like Mike Payne from PTC invented it in the 80's. He...

    AutoCAD users to Solidworks

Hi seghojangan I did reply to your post at the Solidworks newsgroup but it got removed by Solidworks because I mentioned to look at Autodesk inventor and fusion and posted a videolink. Here it is again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMcsQjxDSH8 I don't like to type it all over again but...

    Size icons in context toolbar

Does anybody know how to change the size of icons in the in context toolbar flyout buttons? You can set big icons at the option menu but this does not change the iconsize for the in context toolbar. On a high resolution the buttons are far too small.

API Invoke right mouse button commands by shortcut?

Ok, Thanks to all of you, I will try. On the other hand I loose performance in SW2010 because of the user interface and changed behaviour with configuration of standard parts. You have to edit text from the tree which takes mousemovement. I have a pop up texteditor in 2005 now which is much...

API Invoke right mouse button commands by shortcut?

Oke thanks, I can't find the SolidWorks 2005 Commands Type Library all the other names are the same and available. There is no SWcommands.tlb in SW2005, also if I browse it isn't there. So could it be that SW2005 did not support this way? I can install SW2010 to find out. I only have this...

API Invoke right mouse button commands by shortcut?

Thanks for your very fast respons This one is highlighted swModelDocExt.RunCommand myCmd, "" If I add the next code above the macro there is no error and also nothing happens. Dim swApp As Object Dim Part As Object Dim boolstatus As Boolean Dim longstatus As Long, longwarnings As Long Dim...

API Invoke right mouse button commands by shortcut?

Thanks for your attention. I have few experience with macros so maybe I miss something. I am using SW2005 but we have a SW2010 license. I tried to copy and paste the code for the view mates command and put this code in a macro. After running there is an error "Run time error 438" I also...

API Invoke right mouse button commands by shortcut?

I like to have as many as possible shortcuts for any command. Does anybody know if it is possible to have right mouse buttons options like "view mates" or "go to feature in tree" accessable via a shorcut that runs a macro which invokes the right mouse button option? The macro should have the...

    SW API - FeatureManager GoTo?

I see your need, the tree is causing far too much Scrollworks in Solidworks. This only has gotten worse the last years as more (unnecessairy) information gets into the tree every release that needs to be scrolled away. I also have been trying to do this for the rightmouse view mate command but...

    Solidworks precise mousemovements

In higher resolutions for example 1600x1200 the mousemovements get too precise. Does anybody know a (low level) setting how to change this. For example object snaps and selections take too much time because of the precise mousemovements in higher resolution. 1280x1024 is ok. Thanks for your...

How to activate by means of keyboard Properties Manager

Hello SA, Thanks for your answers, I also heard something like that. "Users complained they could not see the graphics area when the dialog box was opened", that is also what I heard as the reason to implement the propertymanager. I never found this a problem, once you changed a dialog menu to...

    How is SW07 stability?

Is the stability of SW07 better or less than SW06/SW05? Thanks for your response. Richard

    Solidworks usability

I saw Pro WF II and wasn't really impressed. SW is much better and needs far less mouseclicks. But SW can be optimized too by avoiding the trees/propertymanagers/scrollwork and have as many as possible pop up menus and shortcuts. Not like the dialog boxes but just like the mate popup menu in...

How to activate by means of keyboard Properties Manager

Hi SA I find working with multiple windows very inefficient as you can't pick commands anymore in the propertymanager as the property manager is sometimes 3 times bigger than the window hiding the commands. You have to scroll or windows maximize before you can invoke your commands. This...

How to activate by means of keyboard Properties Manager

I also have tried to find ways to invoke shortcuts in the property manager but I could not automate property manager picks in an acceptable way. In the property manager sometimes options don't have a shortcut possebility ( no _ under the character) and there are often double assigned shortcuts...

    Solidworks usability

Being a long time Solidworks user since 95 I have come to dislike the userinterface more and more every release. The reason is the forced use of property managers for almost every command which was not necessairy in older releases. The problem is that with the property managers the...
