A CO-WORKER AND I ARE ARGUING OVER PROPER GRAMMER AS IT APPLIES TO DRAWING NOTES. AS FICKLE AS THIS MAY SOUND, I HATE BEING TOLD THAT I AM WRONG WITHOUT GOOD PREMISE. HE SAYS THAT ANY SENTENCE MUST END IN A PERIOD. MY PERSONAL FEELING IS THAT IF THE NOTE IS LONGER THAN ONE SENTENCE PERIODS...
We are currently looking for an expansion tank manufacturer who can supply us with a large number of steel tanks (non-bladder)directly off the shelf. We currently use john woods tanks, but the dimensions are not favorable to our new product lines. We need a 40 gallon tank which is less than...
As a continuation of my last thread "3-5/8" holes..etc..", my tool rep has recommended we use a two or three step method. However he wants me to make a decision on whether or not my machine can handle the tooling. Our machine runs on 7hp 30 min. 4hp continuous on max. 6000 rpm. the coolant...
unclesyd,
Thanks for the link....
What do you mean by 'if your hole requirements allow it'?
Does an annular cutter give poor tolerance?
Tolerance is not really an issue, as we are welding 3" pipe into these holes.
I am trying to develop a method for boring 3-5/8" holes in carbon steel blind flanges, 18" 300# is the thickest flange that we could possibly fit on our machine. I am thinking about using a two stage method by which we would bore a 1" hole, then change bits and finish up with the 3-5/8" hole...
My company uses a MV Jr (with carbide inserts on our bits)to drill holes through flanges. Previous engineers at the company programmed it to drill only carbon steel, and I am trying to progam it for 304/L stainless. The way I understand it stainless is to be drilled at a lower rpm. Can anyone...
Hi everyone,
I have recently performed an ASME code calculation (using software) on a pressure vessel. I thought that it was odd that the vessel would pass for 304 but not for 304L. This of course raised the question of what the difference is between the two at say 1150 degrees F. My question...
