Opening an .ipt in Solidworks is like opening a STEP file. It comes in as an imported file. All of the information is lost. I searched around and found a 3rd party software that claims it can do the job. It's called CrossCad. Anyone had any experience with CrossCad?
Does anyone know of a method or 3rd party software that will convert the data in an Inventor part file to SolidWorks and retain data such as material properties, custom properties, etc? Step file. iges, etc. conversion seems to eliminate this data.
Actually I had a "DUH" moment. If you select the view tab in the menu there is a SHOW/HIDE ANNOTATIONS command that will show if any bubble numbers are hidden. We have our drawings created offshore and for some reason they hid some of the bubble numbers. You get what you pay for.

When I try to open an Inventor assembly in Solidworks all of the Inventor parts are replaced by the Inventor assembly base part. If I have one base plate and five other parts in the Inventor assembly, I get 6 base plates in place of all the original parts. Anyone have this problem?
When I download an iges file (the only format offered) from a vendor, the scale isn't correct. It is in inch units instead of millimeters which means it's 25.4 times larger that it should be. Is there any way to rescale the part or is there some setting in Inventor that will clear this up?
