Looking for a Female Human Head Model

Hello All- Does anyone know of a place to download a reasonable accurate, somewhat aesthetic, model of a female head. I am designing a bluetooth headset and want to render the model on a female head to show the customer. Either paid or free sites will work. The model has to be solidworks...

    Dynamic Graphing Utility

electicpete- Thanks for the chart. Its not exactly what I was looking for but it is really nice and will help me until I can find what I am looking for. Thanks a bunch!

    Dynamic Graphing Utility

Hello All- I am looking for a data plotting utility like Excel that allows the user to make dynamic, zoomable plots like those on Google Finance like this: http://finance.google.com/finance?q=INDEXDJX:.DJI%20INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC%20INDEXSP:.INX I have a large set of data that needs to be...

    O-ring squeeze verses pressure data

It is a face seal that gets slowly rotated. Imagine a cylinder with a hole through its center. Now the end of the cylinder is pushed up against a flat plate with a hole through its center. Fluid (water) must pass through both the cylinder and plate, so a face seal on the end of the cylinder is...

    O-ring squeeze verses pressure data

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, due to friction constraints, I can't design the gland at the parker recommended squeeze. We have to use considerably less squeeze. So far, we have used an experimental approach of finding the least amount of squeeze that holds the system pressure (fairly...

    O-ring squeeze verses pressure data

I am looking for data regarding maximum fluid pressure verses o-ring squeeze. I am designing an o-ring face seal and would like to know what maximum pressures the seal could hold at different amounts of squeeze. Thanks in advance for the help!

    PWM DC Motor Control

I am driving the motor with a L6202 H-bridge driver chip.

    PWM DC Motor Control

Can anybody point me towards a good reference (preferrably and internet article) about PWM DC Motor Control? I need to control a small 5V DC motor so that it quickly moves to a specified position and holds that position untill commanded further. I am currently using a software algorithm that...

Measuring Deformation Values from a Deformation Plot

Yeah, that ball problem was just an example to explain what I am trying to do. The acutal problem is the pressure problem that I explained in the original post. My object has uniform pressure distribution on all external surfaces. In reality, the entire object will be "squeezed" toward the...

Measuring Deformation Values from a Deformation Plot

Thanks for the responses- jte- I am using Cosmos thru Solidworks cbrn- This is a tough topic to convey, so let me explain it by describing a model. Say you have a model of a ball supported by a spring to ground. In addition to the spring, you have a point force on the ball pushing in the...

Measuring Deformation Values from a Deformation Plot

Hello Everyone- Is there a way to measure the deformation of a model in Cosmos? The deformation plot appears to measure the departure of the model from it's orignal shape as opposed to the displacement plot that measures the departure of a point in the model relative to ground. Is there a way...

Corrosion of a fittings in a stainless steel vessel

Additional Note: -The structure is plastic (non-conductive) -There are no direct metal-to-metal contacts or any other electically conductive paths betweeen dissimilar metals aside from the salt water My main question is whether dissimilar metals will produce a galvanic pair when immersed in...

Corrosion of a fittings in a stainless steel vessel

I am testing a structure inside a stainless steel vessel filled with sea water. The structure has a brass fitting and several titanium fasteners. Neither the fitting nor fasteners come in contact with the vessel or each other but will be aprroximately 1 foot away from the vessel walls and each...

    Galvanic Corrosion

Two metals that form a galvanic couple (brass and 304 stainless steel for example) are immersed in salt water and near eachother (approx 1 foot apart), but not touching. Will the brass corrode? Is the salt water enough of an electrical conduction path to create galvanic corrosion? Thanks for...

    Bolt Torque Coefficients

Hi All- Does anyone know of a good resource for bolt torque coefficients? I need to determine the axial preload, given the installation torque, on a copper fitting being screwed into an acetal housing. Thanks for the help!

    Pressure Vessel Boundary Conditions

Thanks for the help everyone, I used the 3-2-1 method and it produced the results I was looking for!

    What is 'soft spring'

If you restrain a point in the model in three traslational directions (your point 1 in the 3-2-1 method), and that point is a part of the mesh, how does that not restrict the deformation of the model?

    Sealed Container under pressure

Thanks for the suggestion hiyer. Unfortunately, the model is not symmetric.

    Pressure Vessel Boundary Conditions

Thanks for the suggestions. The problem is that the container is not symmetric about any of the center planes. In addition, essentially every node in the model will be displaced during loading as the container is sqeezed inward by the external pressure ... so contraining any part of the model...
