Hello;
I'm trying to simulate a moment at a node in a 3D model with TET10 element, but the result is 0 displacements a no stress in the model.
Does TET10 elements support moments?...:S
Thank you.
Hello;
I've tried to apply two seperated equal forces to simulate a torque.
I'm modeling a connecting rod, i'm trying to simulate a torque at one end (at the piston). I've defined two contact bodies (deformables): the connecting rod and the shaft. The connecting rod is fixed and the body that...
Hello;
I need help, i'm trying to apply a torque to a rigid body (surface 2D in a 3D analisys) in a contact analisys. I define two control nodes. In the first node i constrain the displacent (DOF's 1,2 and 3) and in the second node i apply a moment and i define an axis of rotation...

Well..
i've found that GAP element can be used only in SOL106 and others... but it can't be used in SOL600 (it can be used only like linear stiffness, without an initial force).
The best way to simulate the pretension is using thermal difference.
But, in static analisys (SOL 600 and SOL 101...
Hi;
Thanks for the answers..I'm performing an analisys about a connecting rod, so i have to simulate the fix between the two parts by a screw. I'm using the implicit non-linear SOL600 solver (In MSC.NASTRAN). Can I use, like you are saying, an inital temperature in the screw to simulate the...
Hi;
I want to select nodes that are associated with solids (I want to create one group for each FEM element associated with my solids, but i have to mesh two solid at the same time becouse i have to assembly them). I want to do this, bacouse i would like to plot FEM solid's results...
How can you simulate the screw torque (join force by the elongation of the screw) in Nastran code???. Can I introduce a initial elongation in a non-dynamic problem like a Load??.
