Stanier and Chris 73,
When treating effluents with ammonia and H2S, we use a scrubber for ammonia, then a biofilter for H2S.
We also cover most of our biofilters, be it in rainy regions or sunny ones, to prevent water problems in either way.
And yep, black art here - you always have measurment...
Hi Chris 73,
Depending on the material you use in the bed of the biofilter, you will also have to add water on the top of it (spray nozzles are fine too).
Humidifying air/media is always hard to calibrate because there's no easy way to estimate the needs... What we do is we set the electrovalve...
Rod,
It seems that, if you don't know the proportions of your different VOc, you won't be able to go from ppm to mg/m3 or the opposite.
Moreover, this forum isn't very active, maybe you should try to post it in another one to get more answers.
However, here is what I have found. It's long and...
Rod,
That's a really interesting problem you've raised, unfortunately I can't help you much.
I will ask my teachers (yeah, still in internship) and the VOC specialist of my company, maybe they can give some tips.
We use the Draeger tubes too, but for other compounds. When it is possible, we...
Rod,
Usually the TOVC are expressed in equivalent sthg, as they have different molar weight. It comes from when they are analysed by chromatography, ie equivalent methane.
After that, I don't know if, to convert, you still use methane (in this case) or you use the major pollutant of the TVOC.
I...
Hi mendietan
I'm not sure to understand exactly what "TOC" means as I'm French and haven't seen this before, but I guess it is something like Total Organic Chemicals?
For those kind of compounds, I know that biofilters / bioscrubbing / trickling biofilters can be efficient, but they...
jproj,
I have quite the same problem as you - plus, even after reading the topic on "pipe or tube" I'm even more confused on what termm should I use, as English is not my mothertongue language.
I have a tank of activated sludge, and I want to provide air in it, through a series of...
