Martin,
thanks for your help. It worked fine in other system. I got a result what i wanted to see(jumping of solid block after hitting rigid deck.
Seems to be some bug in abaqus installation or other mistakes (by me), which i have to find yet.
Regards,
fembig
Thanks. I could see normal direction. But, It points towards the block. Block bottom surface normals also points towards the rigid surface.
So, normal direction is ok. What else could be wrong?

Hello,
I try to simulate simple contact models in explicit solver.
My model:
1. Rigid flat surface(400*400 mm). Solid cube (100*100*100) drops(with 4000 mm/sec) on rigid surface. I have specified general contact. In my case dropping solid does not make any contact with rigid surface and...
Hello,
I analyze a part with rigid (fixed in all 6 dof) boundary conditions. But in reality, there will be some translational movement(3 directions), say around 1 mm. Is it possible to simulate this condition. How to specify. My solver is abaqus.
Thanks for your time.

Azrael,
i have no problem with joining. perfectly, works. After making one surface also, i could not avoid that edjes which i had earlier. During meshing, along these edges elements are created which is small and want to avoid.
Solid 7,
My problem: join operation, joins the surface. but...
Hello,
For meshing, i make midplane surface model out of my 3d model. During the process, i get very small surfaces, which i join with other surfaces. But join operation does not remove my small surface edges. So, in meshing i need to have very small elements to have better quality in these...
Hello,
Thanks everybody.
EDR, I want to do inelastic analysis to know the real stress-strain values. I think static test is not sufficient to if stresses or displacements are exceeding.
Xerf,
I will check for material model. But, can you explain me what is the model preferred for plastic...
Hello,
For a glass filled nylon part, we have to do fem analysis using abaqus(probably). I have material datas like all modulus, possion ratio, stress-strain curve(tensile) etc.,
Design objective would be under high load, created stress should be in the elastic range. Anything beyond is...
