Are there any specific test according to BS that is required to be carried out once the wiring installation for power sockets, lighting and similar small power equipment is complete before hand over.
Thanks.
The drawn power as mentioned in the pump curve is 18kW. The original motor fixed to the pump is 20kW and the maintenance personnel wants to change the motor to 30kW. I am trying to collect data to pursuade him otherwise.
What does excessive gear ratios mean in belt fans? Many consultants say to avoid them and use direct drive. How do I calculate the savings if changing the pulley to direct drive
ScottUK,
Could I jsut ask why does it take more reactive current from the line? Does power factor plays apart in this? Could you please elaborate? Thanks.
If I use a 30kW motor, how much current will be drawn? Will it be very inefficient? Does the type of starter or drive for example Star/delta or VSD matters?
I have a 20kW pump. What is the best motor size to be used for the 20kW pump. Can I choose a bigger size motor or slightly smaller size motor. What are the advantages and disadvantages of both selection? Does the type of starter or drive of the motor make a difference?
On board A, three phase MCCB supplies the lighting board, Board B, which supplies the lighting circuits. Each phase supply one circuit of the lighting, therefore under normal condition, three phases are supplied to the lighting boards, Board B by a three pole switch. During emergency condition...
I have some lighting circuits connected to a three phase system. For normal running, three phases will be used for lightings. When the normal supply is not available, the generator kicks in but it will onyl be able to supply one phase of the lighting instead of three phases. This is done through...
