Alloy is 35Cr45Ni (no ASTM spec to reference).
1. Furnaces are being erected and it was noticed that some of the tubes have multiple rust spots, typically these results from carbon steel contamination.
I'd like to hear your expert opinions on expected damage mechanisms if carbon...
you've mentioned that if water is present, then it is corrosive.
where can I find these corrosion rates publised??
I've already tried CORSUR (NACE) w/o luck!!!!!!

Best option is Duplex stainless steel type 2205.
Be advised that if component is going to be used in pressure containing part or vessel, ASME code limit use of duplex to less than 600F.
