First, Try using the DIRECT SPARSE solver instead of the this FFE solver.
If problem still occurs, Check the .OUT file and see which NODE or ELEMENT is problematic.
TRAINING versus TUTORIAL
Ray has brought up an interesting point about the Quality of the so called "Training" classes that various FEA companies offer. Most these classes teach you which Buttons / Menus / Commands to use. I don't need a class for that. I can figure out those things myself...
That does not sound right. Steady State HT can have Thermal-conductivity that is dependent on the temperature. You may have to use Nonlinear Heat-transfer but it is still steady-state.

I have tried using CosmosMotion several times and everytime I need to get a real answer, I am told by the tech support folks that there is a bug. I believe that CosmosMotion is not ready for real solution of assemblies..It is just a freebie that Solidworks throws in with their software.
