sorry guys for the late reply..actually, my opinion regarding this cracked insulator are poor woormanship during installation, or maybe the material of the insulators itself and maye due to vibration..my friend told me about electrical vibration..but i still don't have any idea regarding...
Good Day Guys,
Its quite long time, i haven't log in in this forum..I have 1 query regarding the subject mentioned above..can anybody help me to explain this situation..I experienced cracked some insulators at 1.2kV Busbar for static excitation system...I really need somebody to explain why this...
Hi Guys,
Can anybody explain how does this surge absorber operate for motor starting circuit. Please refer to the attached graph for reference. i have been told that this surge absorber is used for increase back the current when it slowly decrease below its rated current. So, there is 3 steps...
Thanks to all,
I knew how reverse power concept at turbine-generator i.e instead of generator drive the turbine but turbine drive the generator. What i really want to know is how this reverse power can happen at turbine-generator? as slavag said : 'Main Steam Valve closed'. What is other caused?
Dear slava,
what is your generator design (spec)? so far as i know, i already done for 4 units of PD online measurement, i did online measurement at pf=0.85 and pf=0.98. the measurement never influence stator/rotor 100% E/F. unless there is bad corona sign at your stator winding. maybe you have...
i was using REG216. Normally after 2 years then we will do the calibration of the REG card. But, in my case, the calibration already done just a few months ago. so, after the unit shutdown, we proceed for the overhaul. we never disturb the REG card. but, unfortunately, our GT trip when we want...
dear slavag,
PD measurement does not injecting any current or voltage to the stator winding. it was just a measurement to check the existing of corona sign at the stator end winding(usually). so, with that we can check the insulation strength at the stator winding. Hope this will clarify...
Good Day Friends,
actually i faced same problem same as one of our member here. i was working at CCGT power plant. our generator was from ABB GT13E2. After finished major overhaul for the generator(rated 15.75kV), and during the commisioning of the generator, our generator protection trigger...
I suppose to go for FAT LV swithgear. what should i check or inspect during the FAT test? Just FYI..i dont have any experience to go for FAT..i just working for 1 year++ at one of the power plant..
