    Normal Temperature/Service

I have a WPS for P8 to P8-F6/F5/F6. B31.3 For materials it states that procedure is qualified for all P8 matrials in QW 422 for normal temperature applications. It also says Normal Service What is the range of normal temp.? What is considered normal service? Thanks, QCMIKE

    Welder Qualification

I have a pipe spec. that quotes A333 ITCS pipe and ITCS A350 LF2 fittings. Are these materials impact tested any differently than normal test for these materials? QCMIKE

    Welder Qualification

Which weld has more strength, a fillet weld around a socket connection or a butt weld? A natural gas line was butt welded when the customer spec called for socket welds. At a meeting it was mentioned that a butt weld was stronger than a socket weld and this was immediately contradicted by one...

    Pipe Welding

I need to wrilte a PWHT procedure for P1 material both sour and non-sour service. The material for the moment is A 106 B. Is there a formula I can use to determine max. rate per hour the temp can be raised, duration of soak and rate of cooling per hour? Is there a rate and temp. that must not...

    Pipe Welding

I have another question about the WPS for stainless. If the parameters on the wps can be used for any P8 material, wouldn't a new welding procedure data sheet have to be made listing 316L consumables and 316L base material? Would any further testing be required since the consumable and base...

    Pipe Welding

On welder performance qualification cards , on the line marked Materials (P.N0.). If no Group No. is given for P1, what group is qualified. If on Materials line P1 to P8 is noted does that mean any steel listed as a P1 to any steel listed as P8 can be welded up to deposited thickness...
