Read a capacitive signal and output a square wave

The aftermarket ECU I want to use is not picky when it comes to cam signal. It simply alerts the ecu to where in the fining order is cylinder 1. Once this is established the ecu can sequential inject fuel at the correct firing order.

Read a capacitive signal and output a square wave

I am working on an engine that needs a cam sensor. I’d like to just use the signal from spark plug one instead of drilling adding a cam sensor. I know I can generate a current signal by placing a strip of wire over the spark plug wire but I’m not sure how to convert it to a square wave 0-5V. I...

    simple question about valve types.

It does not have to be very accurate. The valve will be used to fill a container with an inert gas. I just want to safeguard against someone leaving the valve open and wasting gas. I also want to make sure the valve is open long enough to fully pressurize the container.

    simple question about valve types.

I am looking for an idiot proof valve. Basically I would like to be able to press a button and have a valve open for a specific time. Say 1 second. No matter how long or short you press the button it still only stays open for 1 second. I know I could do this with a solenoid valve and some...

What type of valves will create this pneumatic system?

What type of valve. It would have to act almost like a fuse once a pressure is exceded it trips (closes) until the pressure is within spec then it resets (opens).

What type of valves will create this pneumatic system?

I would like to use the vacuum from an engine to actuate a vacuum canister. However an engine can experience pressures of 10-20 kPa on engine deceleration, up to 101 kPa at WOT. I need to create a pneumatic circuit that will meet these criteria: 1. At 60 kPa and below the vacuum of the...

    Do splicing o-ring's affect properties.

I need to create a 41" o-ring that will seal a vacuum plenum on an intake manifold. So it will need to be gasoline resistant and able to withstand 250 deg Fahrenheit. Will splicing a viton o-ring affect the properties of the o-ring material.

I have considered that, but I’d like to have the machine shop make me 1 style banjo and then at a later date I can have them colored the color I want.

Can I anodize AL to look like brass?

I am having a 6061 fuel banjo made and would like it to look like the brass banjos that came on the old Webers. Is there a way to make 6061 look like brass? I wanted to have an assortment of colors: black, clear, brass. Are bright dipped parts compatible with gasoline?

What kind of finish will a edm produce?

I have the choice of producing an engraved logo via edm or cnc mill. The prices for both are competitive. I have had several small badges made from 6061 with the mill so I know what to expect from it. However, I have never seen a graphite edm working so I don't know what the part will look like...

VE of a VW at idle

Does anyone know what the VE of an old VW bug is at idle? I am working on a pair of Weber carburetors for one and want to know the maximum cfm the Weber’s are allowed to flow when fully closed.

What is the maximum pressure for a banjo fitting.

I am installing a fuel injection system on my 65 mustang. I would like to hide any indication of the modern upgrades. To do this I wanted to use fuel banjos to feed the injectors. So, the question I have is can I use the banjos with crush washers to feed the injectors at the required pressure or...

How should i manufacture a car badge?

My boss would like me to create an intricate badge that will be placed on a line of cars he is introducing. The badge is a a national flag that contains the cars name beside it. We will only be making 100 or so and I don't know if it will be cost effective to mold them out of plastic. I...

why doesnÆt part color transfer from SW 07 to 08?

I created some parts with SW 07 and changed the bodies appearance so it looked like an gold anodized part. When I open the part in 08 the gold color disperse. Is there an easier way to create a gold anodized part without changing the material to gold?
