    Datums in Multiple Views

Equally Spaced is not referenced in 14.5-1994 FYI. It only shows basic angles/dimensions. Anthony

    How Many Decimal Places?

OK, I know if my dimension is 1.0005 my tolerances have to be to 4 places (+/- .0005). My question comes in when the 1.0005 is defined as Datum A. When a second surfce is controlled perpendicular to A within 5 thousandths...does it get expressed as .005 or .0050? Thanks, Anthony

    "Equally Spaced"

The FCF shows a .004 diameter tolerance zone. The old-timer's opinion is that you would divide 360 degrees by the instances (3 holes). That would give you 120 degrees separation. Then you would apply the title block tolerance of +/- 30 minutes. After that you would get your angular location...

    Datums in Multiple Views

Honestly, I have a copy. There are actually 3 of us looking at the same copy! Two of us are young engineers new to this and the other is a 30 year veteran who is well set in his ways. I have only asked the questions that we could not find concrete answers to. "Equally Spaced" wasn't...

    "Equally Spaced"

Is "equally spaced" a valid callout within ASME 14.5? Thanks, Anthony

    Datums in Multiple Views

I have a drawing where it would be convenient to show 1 datum in multiple views. This is because I have to dimension off that datum in multiple views. What is the practice for this? Is the datum shown in one view and then labeled reference in the other views? Is the datum just shown "normal"...

    Unilateral Tolerancing

Ok, so the callout would have to be .500 +.005/-.000?

    Unilateral Tolerancing

In 14.5-1994 is .500+005 a valid callout? Thanks, Anthony

    "Equally Spaced"

I am currently reviewing drawings drawn to 14.5-1973. I am finding the "Equally Spaced" used quite often to call out holes around a Basic circle. We are having a discussion over how the positional tolerance applies. Does the "Equally Spaced" get treated as a Basic callout and the positional...
