Road Drainage
Roads that remain wet will delaminate quicker than roads that dry (I see this under larger trees where the pavement is in shade and dries out slower); this delamination leeds to potholes. Improving the drainage will help, as will the better joint.- wnwniner

FLashfill/CDF
I work for a local government where we see flashfill being used for utility repairs under pavement. We seem to be experiencing "heaving" in these areas, especially in the winter months (midwestern climate). In the summer these areas actually settle a little closer to level, but in the winter...- wnwniner
