    Practical determination of machinability

    A good reference to start with is Metcut Research Associates Inc. Machining Data Hand Book. We use this for a good start when machining tough steels like titanium and 17-4 . Usually these speeds are on the low side but again they are just a start.

    ALUMINUM SOFT JAWS

    In my search for inexpensive soft jaws such as snap jaws, I found a set for thirty bucks and I can use both sides. I found them at www.rossmachine.com. If any knows of any that are cheaper please respond with info.
