We can point fingers as to whether this is Microsoft or PTC are at fault. Microsoft update broke the product, but Microsoft made all partners aware of the updates well in advance, so they could have found this for themselves (unit testing anyone). But PTC has a fix for this.... the problem is...

Also, it looks like Maple 12 is WYSIWYG now, and looks like a possible alternative. Maple provided symbolics for Mathcad upto version 13, so it is worth looking into.
