    Steam Homo Drawing for corrosion?

I have an ancient part in our system that needs to be produced. On the dwg, it says, "Steam Homo Draw at 650F, dip in oil". The material is 1144 steel. My limited Google search says this process to be some sort of proprietary process for corrosion protection...like passivation? Anyway..what...

rbusara....it's a miniature filament bulb..can't locate an equivalent. I need it for a piece of old equipment..only marking on it is CM82 I know I can nail it down if I can do a physical search of the bulb...it runs on 6vdc is all I know.

    Hall effects-reverse output voltage

I'm using Allegro A120x hall effect switches...one of the specs is something called Max Reverse Output Voltage( In this case it's -0.5V. What does that mean and how do I not exceed it. I"m more mechanical so thus the question. Thanks....

Surge test of deltas and wyes

Hope someone can tell me what to do. How do you hook up a wye or delta wound coil to a surge tester/??? I know how to hipot the coil. Do you do a combination 2 wires at a time? Do 2 wires on one tester lead and the remaing one on the other?? Any help would be good. Thanks...

    Motor Winding Temperature Measurement

One way I do it is buy burying a J type thermal couple in the winding of a motor. If you have the equipment, this works okay. But the resistance method is the best. It gives the average heat of the coil. Where as the thermal couple kinda gives a localized temperature response.

Can anyone tell me what I SEMS fastener is?? In other words..I know what it is...a faster with a washer under it.....but what does it stand for? Is it an acronym? Is it a brand name like Tap Tite? Who originated it??

    Heat expansion of tubes/rings

Can anyone tell what the equation/s would be to find out how much the outside and inside diameter of a tube or ring expands?? I just had a bearing fall out of my housing cause heat expanded the housing faster than the bearing. Thanks...Ruso

    Testing Radius of gears

Diamondjim, I don't know how to answer you, since I don't know what is a testing radius. The way it's being used around my new job is to test how good the gear is. It's used to establish the limits when the gear is rolled. Basically, Total composite and tooth to tooth error must fall...

    Testing Radius of gears

Can anyone tell me what a testing radius is for a spur gear??? And how do I calculate that?? What affects it? I know that pitch radius is equal to testing radius in an unmodified gear. Any website that I can go to calculate over wire dims as well?????

    spherical bronze bearings

jbartos: Assembly of the motor at the customer is financially prohibitive. We ship all over the US and Europe. And we ship hundreds of these things. electricpete: I said that these are bronze spherical bearings held with a retainer in a pocket. They are considered self aligning( and dis...

    spherical bronze bearings

Try as we might, packaging did not work. Since bouncing in a truck for several days, even with our best packing still locked some of the motors. But thanks for the help

    spherical bronze bearings

We make DC motors where we use spherical bronze bearings on both ends with an impregnated felt for extra lube and a brass retainer pressed against the bearing to hold every thing. Trouble is...during shipment, they lock up and we have to ask the customer to use a hammer to tap them back into...

    Electric Motor Torque

My experience has been that the bearing system is some what out of alignment. We use a low voltage start criteria on our shaded pole motors to make sure that all is free in the motor.

    Inductive load

I use this voltage range all the time on our motors, within limits of course, and quite safely. I have driven a 115 motor to 135 safely in our lab. The variable transformer will be used to develope test beds for our customers applications. We make 24 volt AC motors upto 115, but it's helpful...
