QW-283 Welds With Buttering
QW-283.1 Scope. This paragraph only applies when
the essential variables for the buttering process are different than the essential variables for the process used for subsequent completion of the joint. Common examples are:
(a) the buttered member is...
About preheat.
Is there recommended practices?
like:
not direct the flame to welding region,
keep some distance of flame from equipment,
to assure the temperature, is necessary waiting some minutes
to check?
Thanks the attetion,

Metengr,
About this situation,
QW-356 (GTAW) - Essential Variables
QW-404.15 Change of F-number
QW-404.15 A change from one F-Number in table QW-432 to any other F-Number or to any other filler metal, except as permitted in QW-433
I understood, the F-number has changed, F-number 6 to...
I know F number is an essential variable like another variables that I didn't mention.
I just wanna know if the welder qualified F number 6 can weld a filler metal without F number, assuming that the other variables it´s correct.
And if possible, where I find this in ASME?
Thanks the attention

I´m preparing a research with inconel 625 corrosion resistant overlay on a pipe (API 5L X-65).
I´ll make some test coupons with many differents welding parameters to analyze.
How can I conclude through examination of microstructures if the mechanical properties or microstructures have been...
The weld metal is inconel 625 for a corrosion-resistant overlay. Here, all part is treated. But, It has some code that requests stress relief? ´cause this material it´s not listed in ASME.
