    AISI D2 tool steel

We have had good results from using the D2 material instead of EN39B tool steels in that corrosion resistance is higher we are now though having a problem with D2 in its toughness to cracking can anyone suggest a similar material to D2 but stronger overall ??

    Tool Steels Resistant to Acids

Has anyone any knowledge of tool steels with enhanced resitance to acids,or maybe stainless with non galling quality ??

    High chrome tool steel

Has anyone used a 12 % chrome tool steel,in an acid environment (free fatty acid)application is plunger and barrel in high pressure pump, what results were obtained ie resistance to corrosion ,non galling etc

    Barrel and plunger metals

We are having corrosion problems using fatty acids in high pressure barrel and plunger pumps, normal material is tool steel we have tried ceramic coating this is partly successfull but we are experiencing cracking down the barrel possibly due to hardening temps, another material we intend to try...

    Ceramic coatings

Anyone experiance of HYC20 ceramic ,we intend to coat pump plungers and barrels to hopefully protect from corrosion due to hot fatty acid pumping the material is silicon carbide within a dense electroless nickel matrix,we are assured of its ability to resist this type of corosion but would like...

    Fatty acid corrosion

We are engaged in a project pumping fat at 90 c a prblem is occuring with corrosion to the pipeworks and internals of the elect heaters,we are not at this time able to change materials to say 316 and are interested to know if a surface coating can be applied internally and how.
