    Riks analysis, local buckling?

I used the magnitude of the imperfection L/750. The length of the column is 4000mm, so I get the imperfection of 5.33 milimeters.

    Riks analysis, local buckling?

One more thing, the critical load taken from riks analysis is about 4 times lower than bucklings...

    Riks analysis, local buckling?

Here is the lowest mode from linear buckling analysis, I think that the shape should by similar in the riks analysis too. http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=5e733523-04ed-40d1-ae54-329d579dfdc5&file=buckling_fixed_7.JPG

    Riks analysis, local buckling?

    Hello, I`m trying to do nonlinear analysis of a column. I do linear buckling analysis to get the eigenvalues. I use these material properties(steel): *Elastic 2.09e+11, 0.3 *Plastic 200.2e+06, 0.0 246.0e+06, 0.0235 294.0e+06, 0.0474 374.0e+06, 0.0935 437.0e+06, 0.1377 480.0e+06, 0.18 Then...

    Abaqus/CAE 6.7 imperfection

Hello, I`m doing buckling analysis with abaqus/cae version and I want to add an imperfection. But when I tried to add *IMPERFECTION to my input file manualy, I got this error: WARNING: The following keywords/parameters are not yet supported by the input file reader...

    shell element buckling

Hello, I have a column which consists of two parts, I need to calculate a critical force applied in the center of the cross section. Is it possible to apply a concentrated force there, and how proportionally transfer that force onto the edges of the column? PS: see attached file Thank you...
