Looking to find date on the Yield (1% offset)& Tensile strength of ASTM479-UNS20910 stainless bar stock @ 450 deg F in order to keep the PED Police away... for a calculation file or at least what the British steel number designation is for the uns20910? For the 316 I found BS-EN10272 with a...
Anyone know how to create a 2d geometry in inventor for Algor for and axisymmetric analysis? I have imported 3d models with not problems for standard analysis.... In inventor I have created a sketch on the yx plane then bounded the path for a surface... but when you import it..... Algor thinks...
"Where is the peak stress for each calculation? Does it relocate with the boundary conditions? For instance, is 81ksi right at the end of the BC?" Yes, you nailed it on the head, max stress is right at the end of the BC. I will try a pin and go from there...
well, a quick hand calc 17500lbf/.441in^2(3/4" dia) = ~39.6 ksi, with algor, with a b.c on the very bottom face perp to the axis, 41 ksi Von Mises stress..... Ok all is good... but once I change the B.C to fix the OD where the threads are and you get around 80.5 ksi.... so that is why I was...
Hi,
I Have a rod with a 3/4"-16unc thread on each end that are 1" long , overall length about 13" with a 1.5" shoulder and fillets in the corners. My Question is about applying boundary conditions to it. One end is screwed into another parts and is "fixed" the other end has a 17,500lbf load...
thanks for all the input.... yes this thread is a custom "special thread" the we had 2 parts from the 50's but no drawings for them..... So I started measureing the major of the external and using in the machinery's handbook and interpolating the tolerances from a 5", 5&1/8", 5&1/4" came up with...
Anyone can help out? looking got the major, Pitch and minor for an external & internal thread tolerance. Machine handbook only covers 5 1/8 and 5 1/4. this 5 3/16"is an old odd ball thread.
Help,
New to the valve industry and I am creating a drawing for a packing set. All I Know is the current material used is a white native PTFE. I would like to ad an ASTM material spec to the print to ensure the right stuff.
Thanks
