Ventilation of Class 1 Division 1 area

I hear what your saying about all the perameters that come into play. Seriously, I thought it was would be a straight forward look up and quote out of the electrical code...... Any mechE guys with EE buddies out there??

    C factor of louvre

@ KiwiMace, OMG that is funny!! scary due to the memories that came rushing back from those days of fortran and the like....still very funny. The guys here in the office now think Im nuts, laughing to myself, Thanks! Louver losses/performace: I say measure it up, sketch the profile and go...

Ventilation of Class 1 Division 1 area

We are spark proof, aluminum and the drive (belt, pully an bearing) is out of the air stream too. To elaborate on my second question, when I ask about clearance I mean from the discharge of the fan to the motor. Is there a clearance from an opening in the classified room to non classificed...

Ventilation of Class 1 Division 1 area

We have a design that seems solid but have come up against this problem with the exhaust fans that are installed. The space is ventilated at 12 air changes per hour, exhaust is ducted high and low within the space, make up air is 10% less to create a negitive, system is controlled low...

    30 ton, single phase chiller

The service in the building is 800 amp, single phase.....lol,lol. I know but that is all that is available. Since the post went up we sourced a 10 ton (two 5 ton scrolls) Trane, air cooled so times three! thanks

Water Source Heat Pump Loop Temperature

Hi, if u are trying to optimize the system, running it colder (less heat added to the loop) may not save u money in energy. Have a good look at were the heat pumps give u the best performance ie, highest coefficient of performance (COP). In heating mode, as loop temp goes down the unit COP will...

    30 ton, single phase chiller

Does anyone know of a 30 chiller solution that will operate on single phase power? Would really like to avoid a cooling tower too. Seems like the air cooled chillers available all need three phase power in this capacity range. We were thinking an indoor bank of 5 ton compressors with chiller...

Hydronic floor heat vs. overhead radiant tubes

I have to agree with DrRTU....Dont get me wrong a well designed inslab system is hard to beat for comfort and when coupled with condencing boiler will achieve nice system efficentcy. This does come at a cost! The gas fired infrareds will heat the floors and every thing else they are "looking"...
