Increase pump efficiency by reducing running clearances

    Thanks for the kind explanation

Increase pump efficiency by reducing running clearances

Thank you Artisi. But in that case if I understood you well, as pumps runs in service, clearance will increase, which leads to inefficiency. Then we have to bring running clearance back to bring back efficiency to original for the given flow. So cutting clearance is has no impact on improving...

Increase pump efficiency by reducing running clearances

I have come across that pump efficiency can be increased by reducing wear ring clearances. However from what I understand, when wear ring clearances are reduced, the pump head will increase, meaning the pump has to be throttled more. In that case, how is it possible that efficiency of the pump...

Closed loop cooling water system maximum return temperature

Environmental regulations as well. You do not wanna heat up the fishes especially if you are using a seawater cooling system

    Boiler Bottom Blowdown

It seems like a material balance problem to me. Perhaps you establish your inlet and outlet solid concentration gains including all your recycle flows and you analyse your accumulation build up. Once that is done you may determine the flow rate of the blowdown you desire, and size accroding to...

    Cryogenic Valve Seat

Yup Thanks abscott for your comments. I was choosing between Vespel and Kel-F. Our internal tests has revealed that the coefficient of thermal expansion of Kel-F is more unpredictable as compared to Vespel. In addition, Vespel seems to be able to take a higher pressure. I thought it might be...

Vespel CR-6100 for impeller wear Ring on Boiler Feed pump

Vespel CR6100 is indeed a good material to replace the wear ring material in dry running pumps such as BFW pumps. It is Teflon based reinforced with carbon graphite, this gives it a good self-lubricity with low CTE that helps survive run dry processes. Certainly highly recommended for BFW pumps!

    Cryogenic Valve Seat

Has anybody tried Vespel for Cryogenic valve seats? Any comments on the performance is most welcome.
