I would prepare for hydrotesting, but due to the changes in Sec. VIII it may be 1.5 or 1.3 times the MAWP depending on the year of construction.

Yes you can provided the heater is existing and has been in service. We have utilized API 579 while evaluating and replacing some HK 40 supports in a Reformer furnace as well as for the stack evaluation.
Highly recommend someone that has performed level II or III evaluations is involved.
