Anyone using an accelabar to measure flow?

Thanks JLS. What kind of results have you had? What have you seen work/fail to work? I've pretty much seen the same old orifice/dp cell combo - not encountered anything much more exotic. Saw an annubar once... I must get out more. Loki

Anyone using an accelabar to measure flow?

Please see the following thread: thread407-241675 Thx, Loki

Anyone using an accelabar to measure flow?

Hi Folks, Does anyone have any operational experience with using this type of flowmeter? I'm looking to provide minimum flow protection for a pump and was thinking of using this device due to its (claimed) ability to be mounted in vertical pipe runs and minimal straight lengths... Thx & Rgds...

    Guided Wave Radar Interface

OK Cheers. Is it a packed vessel or do you compensate for overall level?

    Guided Wave Radar Interface

I have a couple of questions about the bubble tubes roydm was talking about... What gas do you use? (N2? Process Hydrocarbon Gas? Air would be a bad idea!) How do you compensate for a pressurised tank? Thx - Loki.

    Guided Wave Radar Interface

I've not heard good things about using GWR when there's an emulsion pad of any great thickness. To get round the problem of the fluids being the wrong way up you could always stick the probe in from the bottom! Only problem would be draining the entire tank contents if you needed to change...

Flow Control Valves - Parallel Operation

Cheers. There are loads of good ideas here. I was trawling through 'Liptak' (Chapter 6 of process control and optimization) and found examples of 'Gap' or 'Floating' control, 'Small/Large' control and split ranging techniques with hints from Shinskey about how to make them work. Trouble is...

Flow Control Valves - Parallel Operation

Thanks to all for your responses - very much appreciated. roydm - I have made this recommendation already. This kind of control is also known as 'gap' control and uses two valves; one with a Cv << than the other - maybe a fifth of the size. We have a massive valve (Cv = 1140) and a huge valve...

Flow Control Valves - Parallel Operation

I'm looking at an oil export system that has two valves in parallel. Only one at a time should be controlling the flowrate in a cascade level onto flow control. Due to piping anomalies, I'm being asked whether the two valves can be operated with one in manual (@35% open) and the other in auto...
