Hi all!
I am a learner and am trying to familiarize myself with ABAQUS. I tried a problem where I have two rods of identical dimensions. I need to stack one on top of the other and define a contact interaction. I have a pre-load to define contact, but every time I run the job i get the following...
I figured it out :)
There was a factor of about 6.28 by which the results from hand-calculations was greater than the result from ABAQUS. Turns out, ABAQUS gives the results in Hz and hand-calculations is in rad/sec.
I'm having the same problem. I'm just learning ABAQUS. I've tried a couple of static problems and matched with hand calculations.
I'm just moving towards dynamic response and I've been stuck in modal analysis for some time now. The modal frequencies given by ABAQUS and that obtained from hand...
Hi!
Yeah, I was going to tie the two surfaces together. I did the tie and the output was not what I expected.
But now, I used a different mesh element type and the problem is solved.
Thank you anyway.

I am modelling a hollow rod with a circular plate equal to the rod outer diameter at it's top. When I mesh, I specify that it be meshed in certain numbers along the circumference, equal for both parts. But when I assemble the parts, the nodes do not coincide. Can I bring the nodes to coincide...
