I've recently learned about the Harmonic Drive reduction gearboxes. They seem interesting. Is anyone aware of any other new designs for reduction gearboxes - especially in the area of greater than 20:1 reduction.
The aircraft seating manufacturers are the only ones who could use your idea, and develope it further. Certifying a new design for use on aircraft is a huge expense, and the airframe manufacturers and airlines don't usually have the expertise or will to take it on.
