The problem is I am uncertain about a 387 to , say 409 weld.
We would need to "field" weld around 700 linear ft of 409 to 387.
This is a 1/8" seal weld.

Have been looking everywhere for sheet material equivalent to 387 Gr 11 to 22 ( 1.25 to 2.25 chrome) in 16 to 10 ga.
for higher temp application 1000F +or-
Cor-ten or A-606 type 4 does not cut it (average .4 to .6 chrome).
Stainless has too much difference in linear expansion for app.
