Hi everyone, just want to ask question about this section in ACI or UBC. Does the requirement in ACI about the transverse distance apply for dowels in the footing with the vertical re-bar? Do they have to be in contact or mechanically connected in higher Seismic Zones? Thanks for all the input.

Here we always use the LRFD method, which we call Limit States Design. Even for Wood and Masonry we use LRFD.
