    Controller for Self Leveling system

Hi Jeff, I like your idea. How can I get your contact infromation?

    Controller for Self Leveling system

Ensuring that the ground density is sufficient is up to the operator. In this application there will be large pads available to position under the outrigger feet. The pads are considered manditory for operation. In 90% of the cases this unit will be setup on concrete or asphalt.

    Controller for Self Leveling system

The pressure sensors on the outrigger feet are just to give an output that the outrigger feet are extended to the ground and supporting the machine. The inclinometer output is used to ensure the unit is level.

    Controller for Self Leveling system

A requirement for a design of a piece of construction equipment is that the unit must have self leveling outriggers. That is pressure must be sensed at the 4 outrigger feet and then the output of an inclinometer will adust the height of the outriggers to keep the unit level. I know I can...

    DIN 931 vs. DIN 933

Drawoh, No real insistance on the 931 vs. 933 only thing is that at around 2" (50mm) the 931 seems to be used more. Do you believe with a longer bolt an uthreaded section will "stretch" better w/o the chance of failure?

    DIN 931 vs. DIN 933

In trying to minimize our fastener inventory is it possible , without knowing any particular useage, to eliminate a DIN 931 (partial thread) and replace it with a DIN 933 (fully threaded) in all instances.

    Dual Drawings vs. Dual Dimensions?

Thank you all for the advise and suggestions. I will take all of it into account and discuss our next steps with my engineering group. This sure is a great website to get some very good insite!

    Dual Drawings vs. Dual Dimensions?

MintJulep, that is exactly what I would propose for the 2nd drawing page which would also have it's unique BOM. But since the 50mm was cut to length I could substitue a pipe cut at 45,55mm so the overall dimension will match the metric drawing page 1. Same form-fit-function only with local...

    Dual Drawings vs. Dual Dimensions?

I wish it were that easy. For example if you have 2 20mm plates seperated by a 50mm long tube the overall lenght is 20+20+50=90mm. Now the closest imperial plate to 20mm is 7/8" which is 22.225mm. Using the same 50mm long tube I would now have a finished part at 22.225+22.225+50=94.45mm. The...

    Dual Drawings vs. Dual Dimensions?

I work for a global company with 90% of our part design coming from Europe. As a result the European group controls the drawings. When I present these drawings to local vendors in the US the qoutes come back very high because of the metric shapes (square, round & rectangular tubes, mm size...
